Tatton Park parkrun: Course Guide
Tatton Park is one of the most beautiful parkrun settings near Manchester - a National Trust deer park estate with flat, fast paths and proper countryside air.
Tatton Park parkrun takes place within the National Trust’s Tatton Park estate near Knutsford in Cheshire, roughly 15 miles south of Manchester city centre. The course runs on well-maintained estate paths through the deer park, with the parkland landscape – open grassland, ancient oaks and the occasional red deer watching from a respectful distance – making it feel genuinely special. The terrain is flat and the paths are wide and consistent underfoot, which makes it suitable for all abilities and good for faster times. Note that Tatton Park charges an entry fee for vehicles, so factor that in if you are driving.
The train to Knutsford is a real option. Knutsford station sits on the Mid-Cheshire Line from Manchester Piccadilly via Stockport, and the journey takes around 30-35 minutes. The station is about a mile from the park entrance. On-site parking is available inside the estate if you prefer to drive. Many Manchester-based runners make Tatton a regular away-day parkrun, particularly in autumn when the park is at its best.
