Heaton Moor

Heaton Moor sits on the Stockport side of the Mersey, one of the four Heatons, and has a proper village high street that has stayed mostly independent. Shaw Road is the main strip: The Crown is a rebuilt real-ale pub with a rotating cask list that draws drinkers from across Greater Manchester, The Plough on Heaton Moor Road keeps the traditional pub format honest, and the Moortop is the neighbourhood's coffee and brunch HQ. Heaton Moor Park is a small civic green in the middle of the village with tennis courts and a cafe. The railway stations at Heaton Chapel and Levenshulme are both walkable and get you into Piccadilly in ten minutes. The four Heatons as a whole, Moor, Mersey, Chapel and Norris, are where Mancunians move when they want proper suburb with a Manchester commute.
