Best Menswear in Manchester – Where to Shop in 2026

Manchester men dress better than they get credit for. The casuals heritage gives the city a unique sportswear-meets-tailoring sensibility you don’t get in London or Edinburgh. The independent menswear scene on Tib Street has been quietly elite for fifteen years. The designer destinations (END, Hervia, Selfridges) buy a deeper menswear range than they buy womenswear, which is the opposite of every other UK city. Here’s where to actually shop.

The Designer Tier

END – 53 King Street

The cornerstone of Manchester menswear. Stone Island, CP Company, Maharishi, Thom Browne, Junya Watanabe MAN, Visvim, Engineered Garments, Drake’s London, Acne Studios. The deepest designer streetwear and considered menswear in the north. Mid-season sale (March, September) is when the proper bargains land.

Hervia – 40-44 Bridge Street, Spinningfields

Margiela, Comme des Garçons, Y-3, Yohji Yamamoto, Rick Owens, Junya Watanabe. The basement menswear room is the most serious menswear space in Manchester. Where to shop if you’ve outgrown the obvious labels.

Selfridges Trafford – menswear floor

The bigger of the two Selfridges menswear floors. Dries Van Noten, Saint Laurent, Comme des Garçons, Kenzo, Brunello Cucinelli plus the contemporary brands (AMI, Officine Generale, Drake’s). Personal shopping by appointment, free.

Selfridges Exchange Square – menswear lower ground

City centre menswear floor. Slightly more curated than Trafford. Strong on contemporary designer.

Harvey Nichols – menswear lower ground floor

Smaller than Selfridges but the buying is sharper. Cifonelli tailoring, Brunello Cucinelli knitwear, considered Italian and French labels.

The Independent Tier

Stolen From Ivor – 30 Tib Street

The most consistent independent menswear shop in the city. Edwin denim, Universal Works, Folk, YMC, Albam, Norse Projects on a good day. The kind of shop where £180 makes sense because you’ll wear it for ten years. Older crowd (30+), considered fits.

Underdog – Tib Street

Lifestyle store with strong menswear basics. Folk, YMC, Garbstore, Beams Plus, Maharishi. Plus magazines, candles, books, coffee bar. Hard to leave empty-handed.

The Mantle – Cutting Room Square, Ancoats

Premium considered menswear. Kestin, Albam, A Kind of Guise, Birkenstock 1774. Small floor, precise buying, friendly staff.

Junk – Tib Street

Streetwear leaning. Stüssy, Carhartt WIP, Patta, Kapital, Visvim. Twenty years on Tib Street and the buying is sharper than any of the chains.

Pretty Green – King Street

Liam Gallagher’s brand. Mod-influenced, paisley-lined parkas, indie tailoring. Made for a specific Manchester crowd.

Form Lifestyle – Hilton Street, NQ

Smaller indie selling local and small-batch labels. Manchester-made jewellery, ceramics, considered clothing.

The Casuals Tier

END (covered above)

The deepest Stone Island and CP Company stockist in the north.

House of Fraser – 109 Deansgate

Solid casuals selection. Stone Island, Lacoste, Fred Perry, Boss menswear floor. Reliable rather than exciting.

Aspecto (online, Manchester roots)

The legacy Manchester casuals retailer. Closed its physical stores but online still serious. Stone Island, Marshall Artist, Weekend Offender, Henri Lloyd.

Fred Perry – 39 King Street

The mod-casuals crossover brand’s Manchester flagship. The twin-tipped polo is the canonical piece, plus Harringtons, knitwear and outerwear.

The Vintage Tier

Cow Vintage – Church Street, NQ

The biggest vintage destination. Levi’s, leather, 90s sportswear, vintage Stone Island and CP Company drop in regularly. Two floors, weekly stock refreshes.

Mecha at Affleck’s (second floor)

Designer vintage and second-hand designer menswear. Vintage Stone Island, vintage CP, designer denim.

Blue Rinse – Oldham Street

Cheaper, denser, more chaotic vintage than Cow. Strong Americana and workwear.

Pop Boutique – Oldham Street

Strong on 70s knitwear and mod jackets.

Stockport Old Town

The underground vintage scene. Echoes of the Past for 50s and 60s, 2000s Threads for Y2K.

The Tailoring Tier

Edwin DeBoise – 17 King Street West

Manchester’s only Savile Row trained bespoke tailor. From £3,500 for full bespoke.

Marc Darcy – 16 King Street

Manchester-rooted, made-to-measure from £695, sharp Italian-influenced cuts.

Hugo Boss – Cathedral Approach

Premium ready-to-wear plus made-to-measure from £1,200.

Reiss – 30 King Street

Mid-market workhorse. Suits £400-650, regular sales.

COS – 26 King Street

The reliable mid-market source for soft tailoring and considered separates.

Full coverage on the Best Tailors guide.

The Sneaker Tier

Size? – Tib Street

Sneaker flagship for the north. Adidas Originals, Nike SNKRS, New Balance Made in UK.

END (King Street)

Boutique and luxury sneakers. Visvim, Common Projects, Margiela Replica.

Footpatrol – John Dalton Street

Boutique runner brands and obsessive Adidas SPEZIAL stocking.
