About This Event

MRSN's Refugee Week Film Day is a powerful cultural celebration bringing communities together to explore refugee stories through cinema. Taking place on Thursday 18 June 2026, this free event offers a chance to engage with important perspectives and narratives often underrepresented in mainstream media. It's a brilliant opportunity for Mancunians who care about social justice and human rights to spend an afternoon learning, reflecting, and connecting with others.

St James' Church in Moss Side sits right at the heart of Rusholme, one of Manchester's most vibrant and diverse neighbourhoods. This historic venue has long been a community hub, hosting events that celebrate the rich cultural tapestry of South Manchester. The church's welcoming atmosphere makes it the perfect setting for inclusive events that bring people from different backgrounds together.

The film day kicks off at 2pm and won't cost you a penny, making it accessible to everyone across Manchester. Head down to the church and expect a thoughtfully curated selection of films that centre refugee experiences and voices. Arrive with an open mind and perhaps stay for conversations afterwards – these community events are always richer when people stick around to chat and share their thoughts.
