Halloween in Manchester 2026 – Nights Out and Events

Halloween in Manchester 2026

Halloween in Manchester has a useful calendar characteristic: October 31st is often mid-week, which means the city gets two Halloween weekends – the one before and the one after. Both get events. The practical result is more options and more spread across the city. Plan for one, keep the other loose.

Club Nights

Most of Manchester’s major venues run Halloween nights and the bigger ones sell out. Albert Hall on Peter Street goes substantial with its Halloween programming – the venue’s cathedral-style interior works well for the aesthetic, and they typically book a mix of live acts and club nights across the Halloween weekend. Check their calendar from September onwards and book as soon as lineups are confirmed.

The White Hotel in Salford and Warehouse Project both treat Halloween as a significant event. Warehouse Project’s autumn run often includes dedicated Halloween programming in its late October sessions. WHP tickets sell through their own site and presales go quickly – again, do not wait until close to the date. Sankeys, Gorilla, and YES in the Northern Quarter all have Halloween events of varying scales.

Albert’s Schloss

Albert’s Schloss on Peter Street commits to Halloween in a way that few bars in the city match. The Schloss goes heavy on decorations, staff costumes, and themed drinks. The bar is already dramatic in its normal state – Gothic European architecture, candlelit tables – so Halloween suits it. For a bar night rather than a club night, the Schloss Halloween weekend is one of the best options in the city. Book a table for a group rather than turning up and hoping; it gets very full.

Haunted Walking Tours

Several tour operators run haunted Manchester walking tours year-round, but Halloween is when they do their best business and when the atmosphere makes them most worthwhile. The tours cover the city’s actual history – Victorian Manchester had a lot of death, industrial accidents, and buildings with genuine stories. The quality of operators varies; look for ones that use real historical content rather than just jump scares and fog machines. Groups of 8-15 work well for these; they’re good for a pre-drinks activity before hitting a bar or club. Prices are typically £10-15 per person and they book up quickly for the Halloween week.

Family Options

Heaton Park runs Halloween family events – lantern walks, spooky trails, family-friendly activities across the park. These are well-attended and booked up well in advance of the actual date. Check Heaton Park’s events calendar from early October. The Manchester Museum and Science and Industry Museum often have family Halloween programming – again, check the individual venue pages for their 2026 specific events.

For families, the Halloween weekend on the Saturday or Sunday (rather than the Thursday of Halloween itself) makes more sense logistically. Events tend to finish at sensible times and the city centre streets are manageable during the day.

Costume Expectations

Costume is expected at most Halloween club nights and at Albert’s Schloss. It’s not just encouraged – turning up in jeans and a t-shirt to a Halloween night at Albert Hall or the Schloss will feel out of place. The standard in Manchester on Halloween is high. Go for it. The city appreciates commitment to the bit.

Practical note: if you’re in costume and plan to use the Metrolink or taxis, factor in extra time. Halloween weekend nights in Manchester city centre are busy. Booking taxis in advance (Uber, or city taxi firms) is worth doing rather than trying to hail or book on the night.
