Aaron Wood & Alex Kitson: Stand Up Double Header at Gullivers

Catch two of the North's sharpest comedians going head-to-head at this free stand-up showcase on Thursday 28 May 2026. Aaron Wood and Alex Kitson bring their distinct comedic styles to Gullivers for what promises to be a properly entertaining evening of live comedy – and best of all, it won't cost you a penny. This is proper grassroots Manchester comedy, the kind of intimate gig where you're guaranteed proper laughs without the corporate polish.

Gullivers sits right in the heart of Manchester's Northern Quarter, the city's creative heartland packed with independent bars, vintage shops, and vintage venues like this one. The venue's got that authentic underground feel that makes stand-up genuinely special – it's been a staple for live music and comedy for years, and the intimate setting means you're close enough to catch every punchline. The Northern Quarter's buzzing on a Thursday night anyway, so you can easily grab a drink before or after at one of the neighbouring spots.

Doors open at 19:30, so arrive early to grab a decent spot and soak up the atmosphere. Get there from Piccadilly station or grab a tram straight into town – parking's tight round here but there's usually street spots nearby. Heads up though – it's 16+ only, and it's standing room, so wear comfy shoes and get ready for proper belly laughs.
