About Federation House

Federation House is a co-working and community space on Federation Street, housed in a building that was part of the old Co-operative Wholesale Society complex in what’s now the NOMA neighbourhood. The building has history — the co-operative movement essentially built this part of Manchester — and Federation House tries to keep some of that cooperative spirit alive.

The space offers hot desks, dedicated desks, and private offices for freelancers, small businesses, and organisations. It’s priced to be more accessible than the glossy corporate co-working chains, and the community is deliberately mixed — you’ll find sole traders alongside social enterprises alongside creative agencies. There’s a cafe on the ground floor and meeting rooms available to book.

Federation House also hosts events, talks, and workshops, often with a focus on social enterprise, cooperative business, and ethical tech. The building attracts organisations working in the social economy, which gives the place a different feel from your standard WeWork-style setup.

Find them at 2 Federation Street, Manchester M4 4BF, a short walk from Victoria station. If you need a workspace in Manchester and want something with a bit more substance than a serviced office, it’s worth a look. Drop in for a coffee and see the space, or check their website for current desk availability and pricing.
