Manchester Community Central (Macc)

Manchester Community Central, known as Macc, is the infrastructure support organisation for Manchester’s voluntary, community, and social enterprise sector. They don’t deliver frontline services to the public – instead, they help the organisations that do. If you run a community group, charity, or social enterprise in Manchester, Macc exists to make your life easier.

Their services include advice on funding and fundraising, help with governance and organisational development, training on everything from safeguarding to social media, and networking opportunities to connect with other organisations doing similar work. They maintain an online directory of community organisations in Manchester and regularly circulate funding opportunities, policy updates, and sector news.

Macc also acts as a voice for the voluntary sector in conversations with Manchester City Council, the NHS, and other public bodies. When the council needs to consult with community organisations, Macc often facilitates that process.
