Prestwich parkrun: Course Guide
A friendly, wooded parkrun tucked into Prestwich Clough - hilly by Manchester standards and very easy to reach by Metrolink.

Prestwich parkrun takes place in Prestwich Clough, a steep-sided valley park that follows the course of Prestwich Brook north of the town centre. The route winds through mixed woodland and open grassland, with a couple of notable climbs that catch first-timers out. It is not a fast course but it rewards runners who want something more interesting than flat tarmac. The Clough has a proper wild feel to it considering how close you are to the suburbs, and on a cold autumn morning with the trees in colour it is one of the better parkrun settings in Greater Manchester.
Getting there without a car is straightforward. The Prestwich stop on the Metrolink Bury line is a short walk from the park entrance – take the line from Manchester city centre (about 15 minutes from Market Street) and follow the signs down into the Clough. There is also parking off Clifton Road if you are driving. The park cafe opens after the run, which makes the post-run coffee situation easy. Registration is free at parkrun.org.uk. Bring a barcode printed or on your phone.
