The velodrome is a distinctive building in Sportcity with its sloped wooden track designed for high-speed competition. The venue hosts national and international track cycling events, from pursuit races to keirin events, drawing serious riders and spectators from across Europe.
Beyond elite sport, the centre runs a junior development programme that introduces young riders to track cycling basics. The facility also includes BMX racing, with separate tracks and coaching programmes for different age groups and ability levels.
You can watch training sessions most days when events aren't scheduled, and the venue occasionally opens for guided tours. The complex sits within Sportcity alongside the Etihad Stadium, making it easy to combine visits with other sporting attractions in the area.
