# CURRENTS + ERRA at Manchester Academy
Currents bring their explosive metalcore sound to Manchester Academy on Thursday 12 November 2026, with fellow heavy hitters Erra joining as support. This is a must-see gig for anyone into modern metal and progressive hardcore, with both bands delivering intense, technically impressive performances that'll have the pit absolutely raging. With doors at 17:30, you're looking at an evening of pure sonic intensity from two of the genre's most innovative acts.
Manchester Academy sits right on Oxford Road in the heart of the city centre, making it one of the most accessible venues in Manchester for gig-goers. The intimate 3,000-capacity space creates an electric atmosphere that's perfect for metal shows, and the venue's excellent sound system really lets the complex instrumentation shine through. It's a legendary room that's hosted countless breakthrough moments for rock and metal bands.
Head to Manchester Piccadilly or Manchester Oxford Road stations if you're using public transport – the venue is practically on your doorstep. Get there early to grab merch and secure a decent spot in the crowd, especially if you want to experience the full energy of both bands. Wear something you don't mind getting sweaty in, bring ear plugs if you're sensitive, and prepare yourself for one seriously heavy night out.Browse more Music events in Manchester or explore Oxford Road.
