# Art in the Underpass: 10cc Artwork Reveal at Stockport Station
Come celebrate Manchester's musical heritage and contemporary street art at this unmissable Sunday event on 27 September 2026. The Art in the Underpass initiative is revealing stunning new 10cc-inspired artwork at 11:00am, followed by a guided walking tour and talk that'll take you through the creative vision behind this tribute to one of Stockport's most legendary bands. At just £5 per person, it's excellent value for an afternoon combining local history, live commentary, and genuine artistic discovery.
Stockport Station sits at the heart of Greater Manchester's cultural landscape, serving as a genuine gateway to the region's rich musical legacy. The underpass here has been transformed into a dynamic public art space that reflects the town's deep connection to 10cc, whose members shaped the sound of progressive rock in the 1970s. This venue choice makes perfect sense—it's accessible, historically significant, and increasingly recognised as a focal point for creative community projects.
The event kicks off at the station itself, making it straightforward to reach by tram or train from Manchester city centre. Wear comfortable shoes for the walking tour, bring a camera for the artwork, and arrive a few minutes early to soak in the atmosphere. Whether you're a 10cc devotee, street art enthusiast, or simply curious about Stockport's cultural renaissance, this is essential weekend viewing for anyone interested in Greater Manchester's artistic communities.Browse more Culture events in Manchester.
