# Arcadia Roller Derby – New Skater Intake
Fancy learning a new sport while joining Manchester's thriving roller derby community? Arcadia Roller Derby's New Skater Intake on Sunday 20 September 2026 is your chance to lace up and hit the track with zero experience necessary. This is a proper grassroots opportunity to get involved in one of the city's most exciting contact sports, where skill, strategy and teamwork combine for an absolute rush.
The Barlow RC High School in Didsbury provides the perfect home for this intake session, sitting right in one of Manchester's most vibrant neighbourhoods. Didsbury's got that sweet spot of being just south of the city centre while keeping its own strong community identity, and the venue itself has the facilities to properly host roller derby sessions with a decent track setup.
Getting there is straightforward – Didsbury has good tram connections and the high school's accessible by bus if you're coming from across Greater Manchester. You'll want to bring trainers, loose clothing, and be ready for a proper workout. The intake is 18+ only and specifically designed for complete beginners, so don't worry if you've never strapped on skates before – the coaches will take you through everything from basics to getting confident on the track.Browse more Sport events in Manchester or explore Didsbury.
