Maine Road FC are a non-league club based at Brantingham Road in Chorlton, south Manchester, and they carry one of the most evocative names in the city’s football history. Maine Road was Manchester City’s home in Moss Side from 1923 until the move to the Etihad in 2003, and for generations of Mancunians it was the centre of the football world.
