About Almost Famous

Almost Famous started the dirty burger movement in Manchester and it’s still going strong. This High Street spot in the Northern Quarter was doing towering, messy, over-the-top burgers before every other restaurant in the city tried to copy the formula. The Triple Nom is the signature – a stack of beef patties, cheese, bacon, and whatever else they’ve decided to pile on top, served in a brioche bun that barely holds it all together. It’s not pretty. It’s not supposed to be. It’s outstanding.

The space is pure Northern Quarter: graffiti-covered walls, dim lighting, hip-hop on the speakers, and a late-night menu that catches the post-drinks crowd perfectly. Loaded fries are essential, the mac and cheese bites are dangerously good, and the cocktails are fun without taking themselves too seriously. It’s loud, it’s messy, and you will leave with sauce on your hands. That’s the deal. Almost Famous proved that Manchester didn’t need another boring chain burger restaurant – it needed something with personality and a bit of chaos. The original and still one of the best.
