About Emirates Old Trafford

Emirates Old Trafford is the home of Lancashire Cricket Club and one of the regular venues for Test and one-day international cricket in England. The ground has been substantially redeveloped over the past decade – the new hotel at the end of the Stanley Stand is visible from miles away – and now holds over 26,000 for major matches. Test match days here are long and sociable: the Lancashire crowds are knowledgeable and the ground has an atmosphere that is different to the corporate sheen of some of the other Test venues.

n

Outside the cricket season the ground is used for major concerts – capacity events that have included some of the largest touring acts in the world. The tram stop on the Metrolink is directly outside, which makes access easy from the city centre. For county cricket, Lancashire play throughout the summer with tickets significantly cheaper than for internationals and the ground feeling properly attended rather than half-empty. T20 Blast matches in the evening are a particularly good introduction for those who place’t watched cricket live before. The venue’s catering has improved notably in recent years.
