How Ancoats became a dining district

A short walk now links tasting menus, natural wine, bakeries, and pizza queues around Cutting Room Square.

Ancoats dining district

Ancoats works because the places sit close together. Mana, Erst, Rudy's, Trove, and the wider New Islington edge all feed the same evening circuit.

The neighbourhood's food reputation did not come from one opening. It came from different price points arriving together: fine dining, casual pizza, bakeries, wine bars, and everyday cafes.

That mix gives Ancoats its use. You can book months ahead, queue on the day, or walk in for bread and coffee without leaving the same few streets.
