Inside Castlefield Gallery's newest commission
A new commissioned work going up at the gallery.

Castlefield Gallery has commissioned a new large-scale work by a Manchester artist for its main exhibition space. The work combines installation elements with video projection, responding directly to the scale and light of the Castlefield building itself.
The commission was developed through conversations between the artist and the gallery team over several months. The gallery's approach is to commission work that wouldn't otherwise get made - the artist has access to the production facilities and budget to realise a full-scale idea.
The work will be on display for four months before being replaced by the next commission. This rotation model keeps the gallery fresh for repeat visitors and provides regular opportunities for artists to exhibit at scale.
