HOME Manchester building on First Street

HOME is a multi-disciplinary arts venue built into First Street's development in the city centre. The building houses two galleries, a cinema with three screens, and a 250-seat theatre. The programming mixes contemporary visual art, independent film, performance, and artist talks.

The gallery spaces show work across painting, sculpture, video art and new media. The cinema has a particular reputation for showing experimental and international work alongside mainstream releases. The theatre hosts both local productions and touring shows.

The cafe on the ground floor is a public space - you don't need to buy a ticket to use it. This makes it a natural meeting point for people in the arts. Many events are ticketed, but exhibitions and the foyer are free to walk through.
