Hyde parkrun: Course Guide
Flat, friendly and easy to reach by bus - Hyde parkrun is one of the best options for first-time parkrunners in east Manchester and Tameside.

Hyde parkrun is held at Hyde Park in Hyde town centre, Tameside. The course is flat and mostly on good paths through the park, which makes it one of the more accessible events in the Greater Manchester area for newer runners or those returning from injury. The Tameside running community is strong and the volunteer turnout reflects that – the event has a well-organised, welcoming feel and regularly attracts a good mix of speedy club runners and people doing their very first 5k.
From Manchester, the 201 and 203 bus routes run from Piccadilly Gardens to Hyde, and Hyde Central bus station is close to the park. The journey takes around 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. If you are driving, street parking is available around the park. The terrain is straightforward enough that standard road running shoes are all you need. Register free at parkrun.org.uk before your first visit and bring a printed or digital barcode on the day.
