These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of mcr.city (the “Site”), operated by DotCity Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using this Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the Site.
1. About mcr.city
mcr.city is Manchester’s city platform — an independent guide covering events, food & drink, nightlife, sport, music, culture, and local news. It is part of the DotCity network of UK city platforms.
2. Use of the Site
You may use mcr.city for personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not:
- Use the Site in any unlawful manner or for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site or its servers.
- Transmit any spam, malware, or harmful content.
- Scrape, copy, or republish our content without written permission.
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when submitting content.
3. User-Submitted Content
If you submit an event listing, venue listing, or any other content to mcr.city, you confirm that:
- You own or have the right to submit the content.
- The content is accurate, not misleading, and not unlawful.
- You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish, edit, and display the content on the Site.
We reserve the right to reject, edit, or remove any submitted content without notice.
4. Intellectual Property
All original content on mcr.city — including text, design, code, logos, and graphics — is owned by DotCity Ltd or its licensors and is protected by copyright law. You may not reproduce or distribute our content without prior written permission.
Event images sourced from third-party promoters remain the property of their respective owners.
5. Accuracy of Information
Event listings, venue information, and other content on mcr.city are provided in good faith. We make every effort to keep information accurate and up to date, but we cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any listing. Always check directly with the venue or organiser before attending an event.
6. Third-Party Links
The Site contains links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or accuracy of any third-party site. Links do not imply endorsement.
7. Advertising
mcr.city displays advertising through Google AdSense and direct commercial partnerships. Advertising is clearly distinguishable from editorial content. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements.
8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The Site is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, DotCity Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Site, including reliance on event listings or venue information.
Our total liability to you for any direct losses shall not exceed £100.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify DotCity Ltd against any claims, losses, or damages arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the Site.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
