About Stock Exchange Hotel

The Stock Exchange Hotel occupies the former Manchester Stock Exchange on Norfolk Street, a Grade II listed Victorian building with an ornate domed trading floor that now serves as the centrepiece of the hotel. It opened as a boutique hotel in 2019 and immediately became one of the better options for drinking well in the city centre. The No.4 bar takes its name from the address and operates in the evening with a focused cocktail list alongside spirits and wine. The room – high ceilings, the dome overhead, original architectural detailing – is genuinely impressive in a way that doesn’t feel overdone.

n

As a hotel it sits at the upper end of the Manchester market, with rooms that have been designed with some care and a restaurant that takes food seriously. For those not staying, it’s worth knowing that the bar is accessible without a room booking and gives you a chance to sit inside one of Manchester’s best Victorian commercial interiors without it costing a fortune in entry fees. The cocktails are priced accordingly for the setting – not cheap, but not unreasonable for what you get. Located just off King Street, which puts it near several other good bars if you want to make an evening of it.
